Kirkley Hall Zoological Gardens

If you haven’t already discovered Northumberland then it’s about time that you did some exploring and we’re more than happy to give you a luxury night in our cosy hotel in Warkworth. When you come and visit there will be so much for you to see and do and we have some great recommendations that we know you will love. One of my personal favourites (because of my animal obsession) would have to be Kirkley Hall Zoological Gardens. This mini zoo has so much to offer and I guarantee you will have a fabulous day out.

Kirkley Hall Zoological Gardens opened in 2011 and now has an incredible 130 species of animals, reptiles and birds. The zoo is a great family day out and also an educational experience which will teach children and adults an awful lot about the animals.

Kirkley Hall Zoo

Show your wild side

There is so much to see and get involved in at Kirkley Hall Zoo and there are regular talks from the zoo keepers throughout the day so that you will have a chance to get to know more about the animals and in the petting barn you can get really close to them.

There are some upcoming events in September that the kids would love to be a part of such as the Animal Training Weekend on the 5th and 6th where you can see how the animals at Kirkley Zoo are trained. Then there is the aquatics weekend the week after where you will learn all about the different types of fish on show here.

Kirkley Hall Zoo like to offer their visitors plenty of special events like these because they want everyone to be able to see the amazing animals that they work hard with and they want people to have a better understanding of all the species that live there.

For the Kids

The kids will love to see all of the amazing animals on show at Kirkley Hall and after you have been amazed by them all you can relax and have a coffee in the picnic area while the kids tire themselves out on the Noah’s Ark Play Area which will give them hours of fun.

I would recommend this place to anyone who is a lover of animals and something that is very important to the zoo keepers at Kirkley Hall Zoo is the safety and happiness of their animals which is why the habits offered to the animals is very close to what it would be like in the wild. They are well looked after and you will see how happy they are when you visit.

If you’re looking for a good meal and a peaceful night’s sleep after exploring your wild side at the zoo then come and stay with us at Warkworth House Hotel and you’ll be feeling replenished in no time at all.

For all you dog lovers, Kirkley Hall Zoological Gardens has a Dog Grooming Palour.
