Amble Puffin Festival

If you’re looking for something to do this half term, get down to Amble for their amazing Puffin festival. Activities will commence from the 23rd until the 31st of May. This festival is a tribute to the huge amount of Puffins that inhabit Coquet Island which is situated just one mile from the coast of Amble. This is a beautiful place and this is a great chance to witness all of the species that nest on the island during spring and summer. Amble is the ideal place to be to celebrate these fascinating species of bird and to witness them first hand.

There is a plethora of activities to take part in at Amble Puffin Festival and something for all the family. Sample some of the world’s finest beers at the mini beer festival and take a trip to the Bahamas whilst listening to the Caribbean Crew Steel Band. There is a kite flying display which gives you the chance to let your teddy bear or favourite toy get a flying lesson as they sail through the sky.

There is some amazing sporting opportunities with ‘kick start sports’ event for young children and, for the more adventurous, why not try out the surfing taster sessions and see if you can ride some waves like a pro. There is also a climbing wall for anyone pursuing an adrenaline rush and some great football events to be part of.

Take a wildlife photography cruise where you will be trained by a professional photographer to take your very own shots of the Puffins up close. The sea can get a bit choppy though so don’t forget to wear your life vest and bring a sick bag!

There is so much to do at Amble Puffin Festival with guided walks, plenty of wildlife and activities to throw yourself into. The whole family will have a great day out here and you’ll be guaranteed to want to return the next day.
