Beaches

With the wild scenery that spans the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the near-deserted beaches that can be found mile after mile, our coastline is a great place to enjoy the rugged charm of the county

The sea is never far away,
whether it’s the marina at nearby Amble, a trip to Seahouses
and the famous
Farne Islands or a gentle stroll down to one of the  best beaches in Britain ~ right here just down the river from Warkworth

Fishing
Northumberland's rivers provide superb game and coarse fishing. Salmon and sea trout are found in many rivers in nearby River Coquet, regarded as a fishery of national importance.

Warkworth Beach
The award-winning beach is a only a 20 minute walk from the village centre, however visitors can drive and there is a car park alongside the picnic area. A large expanse of golden sand backed by an extensive dune system it really is a must-see when visiting the area and perfect for a morning walk after breakfast or an evening stroll before dinner
